Save The Drama For Your Momma
I don't know why sweetheartbecky went all psycho over me and tr having a little fun. Oh yeah. I was supposed to get together with renia and paigelynn Tuesday but I don't want to anymore. I'm so tired of seeing the same people. And also I gave everybody my wishlist of computer hardware for my birfday, but nobody bought me anything :-(. Oh and Why does allysonkalea keep posting images in their journal?! I keep telling them I'm on a modem! I'm going to unfriend them to teach them a lesson!!!!!!!!!! Lyrics Thing, Stolen From jeffm 1. On your current playlist, hit shuffle and pick the first twenty-five songs on the list (no matter how cheesy or embarrassing). 2. Write down a line of the song. Try to avoid putting the song title in the line. 3. Have your friends comment and see if they know the songs. (NO CHEATING!) 4. When someone guesses correctly, strike out the line and list the correct name of the song next to it. (Don't strike out the line until the song's ARTIST and NAME have both been guessed correctly!) What a crazy ass week its been. I just got back from a month long trip to MD and I was supposed to leave again tomorrow but since I decided to accept another job offer I put in my resignation. I figured it wouldnt be as big of a deal as it was. Well within 10 minutes of submitting my letter, my boss was on the phone cancelling my trip for tomorrow and asking for me to at least reconsider. I agreed to wait till monday before I submitted the letter to HR. I really dont know what to do. On one hand I like where I am now, the people are good to work with, its really relaxed. However, this other job is probably a wiser career move in the long run. Anyway I was so exhausted yesterday from all the weeks events that I came home and was just going to lay down for 5 minutes next thing I know I wake up and its 11pm. So much for going out last night. It was good to get a full nights sleep though. I havent been sleeping all that well. In any event, I am just bumming around the house today. I should really clean this place up as it looks like a hurricane blew through. So give me some advice, do I take the new job? Do I stay where I am at (provided that these month long trips to MD stop)? I am so confused. Current Mood: refreshedCurrent Music: Orbital-Lush 3.2 | | Thursday, October 30th, 2003 | | 9:38 am |
Had an interesting experience the other night... I know most people have been to a haunted house before but the other night me, my cousins, and a bunch of people my cousin works with went to the ADULT haunted house. Basically its your typically haunted house with people jumping out at you but the twist on this one was the fact that they were all female and all nude! The other catch was they give you a pair of 3d glasses before you go in and most of the women were painted in 3d paint. I got to see boobies in ultra 3d! It was a riot, best haunted house Ive been too. Sometimes you have to love the depravity of Las Vegas... | | Wednesday, October 15th, 2003 | | 9:18 am |
Quick Update
Time for a quick update from the Vegas front. Still no job, no prospects at the moment. Been out hitting the streets dropping resumes off in person. Starting to get a little depressed. Bank account running low... Social life is non existent but that doesnt really bother me, I prefer being alone these days anyway. Been playing Hold Em on saturday nights, been doing pretty well. Decided I really need my own place soon, I need to do things my way. I guess a year of living alone will do that to you. Also decided to get a puppy once Im up on my feet here. Other than that life is pretty mellow here. One a positive note, the weather is absolutely beautiful here. Starting to feel like fall in the desert. Well thats it for now. We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming. | | Tuesday, October 7th, 2003 | | 9:26 am |
Update Time
Well its time for another Vegas update... I had 2 interviews a week and a half back, one with a company who works on naval missle software and another with the local NBC affiliate. I got turned down from the naval job because instead of hiring two people like they originally planned to, they went with one instead and being as I dont have any practical experience I was passed over. The wheels over at NBC seem to be moving very slowly. During the interview the guy gave me a small Acess database project to complete and turn into him. I had never really worked with Access before but the project was fairly easy. Long story short, the guy is out of town till later this week but he called me before he left to say I was still in the running and that my project was "basic" but he also said that it wasnt a bad thing. So hopefully this job will pan out. Im getting sick of spending everyday looking for work and being poor. Aside from work things have been ok. Been playing poker on Satuday nights at the Excalibur and doing fairly well at it. Met a few people who I see there every week so thats nice. A couple friends from home were out here for a 21st Bday and that was great. Took the kid over to Coyote Ugly and the bartender made him ride a wooden horse around the bar while all the women spanked his ass and grabbed his nuts for free booze. A good time was had by all. Other than that not much else going on. Hope everyone out there is doing well. 10-4 Over and Out. | | Friday, October 3rd, 2003 | | 4:13 pm |
Laptop Thoughts
So since a bunch of people have asked me how I like my new 15" powerbook I figured I would centralize some thoughts here. Speed wise I am very impressed with the powerbook. Speed was my primary concern with buying an Apple being as Ive been primarily a PC user. Using and learning Mac OS X hasnt been difficult at all. The biggest issue I had was trying to figure out how to enable the root user but even that wasnt hard to solve. Finally, I dont think anyone out there can beat the aesthetics of Apples machines, and the tiny bells and whistles like backlit keyboard and aluminum case add to the overall feel of "quality". All in all, Im very happy I waited for the revision and give the 15" powerbook 2 thumbs up! | | Monday, September 22nd, 2003 | | 8:32 am |
So this weekend was pretty damn cool. Saturday night I got to go to the premier/press party for Zumanity, the new Cirque du Soleil show at New York, New York. It was an awesome party for about 2000 VIPs and celebrities. All the top shelf booze and food was free. I drank plenty of free champagne, guinness, and grey goose and ate from all the top restaurants here in town. The show is supposed to be very erotic and at the party there was plenty of nudity, including topless entertainers, body painters, and half naked performers everywhere. I didnt meet anyone famous but I did see Jerri from Survivor and supposedly Hugh Hefner and 100 playmates were there someplace. All in all it was a kickass time. One of the most memorable events Ive ever been to. So thats whats new here. | | Wednesday, September 17th, 2003 | | 9:33 am |
Time for a quick update from the great city of Las Vegas.... So far the job hunt has gone well. Already had 2 interviews which were more of the informational variety than for a particular position. They went really well and the people said that they would have positions that fit my qualifications opening up soon. Got an interview for a "real" job next week. The position sounds great and Im looking forward to the interview. Last weekend was cool, got to see Chip. Always good to see someone you know when you are far from home (although I guess vegas is my home now). More of you people need to get out here. We had some drinks on Friday and Sunday, a good time was had by all. Lastly, after months of waiting I am picking up my laptop later this afternoon. For anyone interested I wound up getting a 15" powerbook with superdrive. 1.25 GHz G4, 512M ram, 60G HDD, etc, etc... It was a little more costly than what I had originally wanted to spend, but I wanted to get the faster processor (1.25 v 1.0) and the extra $200 was worth it IMO. Well thats whats new! Hope everyone out there is doing well. | | Friday, September 5th, 2003 | | 12:20 pm |
Sin City
Well I made it to Vegas in one piece. Took me 3 days of heavy driving. Got in tuesday night about 6pm PST. Anyway I just wanted to drop an update so that people dont think Ive disappeared off the face of the planet. Been hard to get online these last few days because my cousin decided to get rid of the high speed internet access and using dialup just makes me want to pull my hair out. Im thinking about offering to pay if they get it since most of the communication I due is via the internet. The last few days have really made me realize just how reliant I am on having a high speed connection. So life out here has been good so far. Been sending resumes out daily. Next week I will begin to hit the pavement hard. Gotta setup some appointments with employment agencies. Yesterday we had a crazy storm here. Thunder, lightning, hail, flooding all that good stuff. And than last nite a fire broke out a few miles from here that pretty much leveled 1/2 a city block. It was neat to see the smoke and the glow of the fire from up here on the hill. So anyway thats the score. Hope everyone out there in internet land is doing well. Be back when I can. | | Sunday, August 3rd, 2003 | | 3:52 pm |
Im putting off doing physics homework and decided it was time to drop an update. So I have one more week left of school and I am done at RIT. I had a meeting this week to see if I could stay at RIT to get my masters in computer science, but due to poor grades it doesnt look all that promising (I have one more meeting tomorrow that will determine it for sure). So it looks like I will be moving to Las Vegas later this month and Im very excited yet very scared all at the same time. Ive never lived outside of NY for more than a few months. I guess my biggest fear is just not finding a job in this economy. Ah well I suppose its time for work. More as it develops. | | Tuesday, July 1st, 2003 | | 9:41 am |
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
Well Ive been awake for over 30 hours straight now trying to get 3 seperate projects done for school. The good news is that they are all done. T-minus 5 hours till I can go to bed. Other than school, not much new going on. My big move to Las Vegas takes place in exactly 6 weeks and Im excited as shit. Anyway Im out. Well been a long while between updates. Just figured it was about time for one. Does anyone even still read my journal? Anyway school has been keeping me busy, I will finally be graduating this summer (August 11 but whos counting). I am walking in the ceremony on May 24 even though Im not 100% done. The whole reason I have to be here through summer is to retake some classes I didnt do so hot in the first time around in order to pull my GPA up in hopes of going onto grad school. So far it looks like I will be applying to SUNY Albany, Univ. of Pittsburgh, Univ of Nevada at Las Vegas, and possibly RIT. Im going to start with just a Masters degree in Computer Science, and if I decide I like it I will pursue my PhD. Eventually I would like to become a comp sci professor. Other than school, not much is new in my life. Most of my friends are long gone from Rochester, and the kids I did start college with have long since failed out or transferred. So its pretty boring and lonely (hence why im updating my journal at 12am on a friday night instead of being out drinking) Anyway I cant think of much else, my days are all pretty circular, get up, go to school, bust ass, rinse and repeat. Well thats it for me. Current Music: 02-dj_fabio_b.-friday_night_dnb(dnb)_live_030102_(dvb)_pt.1 | | Tuesday, February 25th, 2003 | | 1:29 pm |

What Ive Been Up Too
Well since I havent been online in over a month I just figured I would catch everyone up with whats been going on. The Trip Home From Vegas: One word, depressing. Took some time enroute to make stops to see friends in various cities. It was nice to see people I hadnt seen in ages and was helpful in easing me back into the reality of living in NY. The first day on the road was terrible, I so did not want to leave vegas and I was rather pissy until I hit the colorado border. I feel sorry for anyone I talked to on the phone that day. Down Time: After returning to ROC the mission was to find a place to live. Something I should have sorted out back in May before school ended. After bumming around couches for a couple weeks, I finally managed to find a place of my own. Its nice living alone but it can also be very lonely. Not that I know to many people left in ROC that I hang out with, but its still lonely living alone. School, ROC, NY, etc: I hate it more and more with every passing day and Im basically counting down till graduation. The second they hand me that diploma Im out of this prison that has held me for the last 3 years. Other Stuff/Upcoming: Going to see The Movielife, New Found Glory, The Ataris, and Thursday all within the next month and a half. This upcoming weekend Im supposed to be in cleveland to see a friend from vegas. Hoping that I actuallly make it to Cleveland this time around. Well thats about it. Not much exciting. | | Sunday, September 29th, 2002 | | 4:50 pm |
